Opening a Vault account for clients residing outside the UAE

Vault can onboard clients residing in most countries, with a few exceptions where IBKR requires a locally registered broker. Check the list before you begin.

Updated 3 July 2026

Vault can onboard clients residing in the UAE and most other countries. There are a few exceptions: Interactive Brokers (IBKR), the custodian of your Vault account, assigns every account to a regional IBKR entity based on the account holder’s country of residence, and some of those entities only work with locally registered brokers and advisors.

If you reside in one of the countries below, IBKR requires your account to sit with the local entity listed, which means Vault can’t open or manage an account for you while you’re resident there.

What this means for you

  • It’s about residence, not nationality. You can hold any passport. What matters is the country you legally reside in when the account is opened.
  • Everywhere else is fine. If your country of residence isn’t listed above, we can onboard you as usual.
  • Eligibility follows you. If you relocate, for example moving to the UAE from a restricted country, you become eligible once your residence changes.

Not sure where you stand? Your Vault advisor is happy to check your specific situation before you start.
