How does Vault financial planning work?

A dedicated Vault advisor turns your goals into a written plan with figures and dates, then builds and manages the portfolio that funds it. Building the plan is complimentary. If you invest, accounts start from USD 100,000 and the management fee is 1.25% on the first $100,000, falling as your balance grows.

  1. Set your goals. Retirement income, school and university fees, property, and what passes to your family, each with a figure and a date.
  2. Bring everything into one view. UAE and international bank and brokerage accounts, property, and pensions left in other countries, consolidated in the Vault app.
  3. Fund the plan. Your advisor builds a portfolio in your own name at Interactive Brokers sized to those goals, and revisits plan and portfolio as your life changes.

See how plan works

Financial planning in Dubai and the UAE starts from a gap most residents carry: there is no state pension underwriting an expatriate retirement, so the income you will need later has to be built from what you save and invest now. A Vault plan puts figures and dates on that, alongside school fees, property and what passes to your family, and your advisor revisits it as your life changes.

Do I need a financial planner or a financial advisor in Dubai?

In the UAE the titles overlap, and what separates them is how the person is paid. Vault’s advisors and investment committee hold CFA and CFP credentials, are regulated by the FSRA in ADGM, and take nothing from any product provider, so the plan is never a route to a product sale. How to choose a financial advisor in Dubai sets out what to check with anyone you meet.

For the wider service around the plan, see private wealth management in Dubai or wealth management in Abu Dhabi. When you are ready, talk to an advisor.

One plan. One place. Total clarity.

Explore your plan inside the app, track your progress in real time, and make smarter decisions with clarity. When you need it, your advisor is there to guide you — combining technology with experience. Between reviews, ask Vera, the AI wealth assistant in the app, how your plan is tracking.

FAQ

Questions about planning

  • No. You can plan around assets that live elsewhere — property, pensions, offshore accounts. Aggregation is optional, but the more we see the sharper your plan becomes.

  • Your plan updates continuously as markets move and your circumstances change. We also schedule a formal review with your advisor at least once a year — more often on request.

  • Absolutely. Buy a home, welcome a child, change jobs — your advisor rebuilds the projection and rebalances your portfolio to match the new reality.

  • We'll flag it early. Your advisor will walk through the trade-offs — contributing more, extending the timeline, or adjusting risk — so you stay in control.

  • Building your plan is complimentary. You only pay our management fee when you choose to invest with Vault.

  • Four things that a plan imported from another market tends to miss. There is no state pension, so retirement is entirely self-funded and the capital figure is larger than most people relocating from Europe expect. End-of-service gratuity arrives as a lump sum and needs a destination decided in advance. There is no personal income tax, which raises the value of a disciplined savings rate. And succession runs through ADGM, DIFC or onshore frameworks, where the default outcome without a will differs sharply from what most residents assume.

  • Yes, and for most clients here it has to. Holdings elsewhere can be aggregated read-only so the plan is built on your full position rather than one slice of it, and they can stay where they are while still being planned around. Cross-border exposure frequently survives relocation — UK domicile can retain inheritance tax exposure, and US persons carry reporting obligations regardless of residence — so tax treatment should be confirmed with a qualified tax adviser for your circumstances.

  • A named advisor, from the first conversation onward. Every client has a dedicated wealth advisor, and clients at the higher tiers work with a dedicated senior advisor. The platform handles reporting, aggregation and portfolio construction; your advisor handles judgement, and a single investment committee sets the research and asset-allocation view so it is consistent across every client rather than varying by desk.

  • USD 100,000 in liquid investable assets is the entry point for the advisory relationship, with a dedicated advisor from that level. Tiers move at USD 1 million and USD 5 million, adding private market access, curated investor policy statements and multi-entity structuring. Building the plan itself is complimentary at every level.
